Outsourcing vs In-house Employees

There are two ways that you can get help. You can employ another in-house employee to do the job or you can outsource to a contractor. Which one is the best option? It depends a lot on your business and what you require in an employee.

If you are hiring someone to assist you as an employee, you will be responsible for paying them, as well as keeping them in a job with projects to do for the long term. You may also need to arrange other workers benefits and you will be paying an hourly wage to your employee.

Outsourcing, on the other hand, is an agreed and set price for a particular task. Because you have hired a contractor, you are not bound by hourly wages or hourly employment long-term. You may only, at this point, be looking for someone to occasionally do some tasks here and there to take some pressure off of your busy schedule. This is where having an independent contractor can come in very handy. Another reason why a contractor is valuable to outsource work to is that they generally are more competitively priced or cheaper to have around than an additional in-house employee.
